Hurricane

A disaster, naturally.

One wide whirlwind of emotions to wrench shingles
from your roof and a torrent of tears that will
drench your pillowcase and devastate the oak floor.

I come and go in a matter of days; yet you’ll be
traipsing the basement in sopping socks for weeks,
after I pass through.
